Us

Cheerfully Imperfect exists to give us a place to share our journey of intentional living. We always yearned for more than a day-to-day existence of 9-5 jobs and household chores. We recognized that life isn’t perfect and that there is a joy to be had in the fact that it isn’t. This led us on a crazy journey of converting a school bus into a travelling tiny home. We spent 18 months traveling the United States and Canada, homeschooling on the road and diving into adventure, head first. We painted the picture of what we wanted our family’s life to look like, not simply going with the flow.

That being said, you will see a lot of different topics here. We talk about our adventures and travels as well as the ordinary things that are part of this amazing thing called LIFE. We don’t update this blog as often as we do our instagram, so for everything current, please visit us there!

ABOUT US

Our story is both ordinary and unique. We fell in love when we were in our teens, before we really knew what love was. We met on a trip to the Philippines in 1997, but because Justin was from Canada and Kirsten was from Texas, our romance was unable to progress in the usual way.

After 3 years of a long distance relationship, we got married and moved to the Yukon. The last 15 years have been an amazing adventure living in both Canada and Texas, but now we have 4 children and college degrees under our belt.

We laugh when we look back at how young we were when we got married and feel lucky that we managed to find each other and survive both the difficult and the divine of marriage. It certainly hasn’t been all roses, but we have learned so much by growing up together. We are very different and like a hurricane and a mountain our strengths are also different, but together we can face anything life throws at us.
