Bulletproof Chai
Don’t drink coffee? Try bulletproof chai!
Or even if you do drink coffee you should try it. A few month ago I discovered bulletproof coffee and it is amazing! If you haven’t tried it, checkout my version of the recipe here. But lately I have decided to temporally give up coffee (I do this once a year or so, because my caffeine tolerance gets so high I end up drinking a LOT). So I decided to try making my “bulletproof chai” instead of regular tea. Success! Ding, ding, ding!!!!! It is rich, creamy and delicious and gives coffee a run for it’s money. Plus, unlike many creamy chai lattes you get at the coffee shop, bulletproof chai is not filled with additives or sugars. Just real, wholesome ingredients that are a great way to start (or boost) you day!
Bulletproof Chai
One cup of organic chai tea brewed as usual
1 TBSP organic coconut oil
1 TBSP of grassfed butter or ghee
1TBSP of raw cream or coconut milk
Put all ingredients in a blender and blend for 30 seconds. Pour and drink. Simple right? If you try bulletproof chai, please come back and let me know in the comments! I want to know how you like it!

just made this today and it’s a great alternative to coffee. I needed a replacement as I was drinking too much of it and getting heartburn…which I have never had in my life. Thanks for this!

I think this and many of the recipes I have looked at is tricking us into thinking you have this great recipe to share. In reality you are just tweeking a store sold recipe……… simply disappointing….
If you would have shared it with something like “how to up-grade your store bought mix” I would have thought your suggestions were great..
February 9, 2015 @ 2:28 pm
You are correct that this recipe simply upgrades chai tea, although there is no store bought “mix” involved or store bought “recipe”. I used a chai tea bag and added the ingredients I would enjoy to make it creamy and nourishing. Unless you own a working farm, most people use ingredients bought at a store, yes?

Ah……..and my post is awaiting moderation…….waste of time then, I’ll be very surprised if it passes approval..

Well I think this sounds delicious. Even if you didn’t grow every single chai ingredient on your farm 😉 Also, I suppose if people were inclined to brew chai from scratch using store bought spices, they could do that too. Maybe instead of chai tea, Myrrh should be doing some tai chi, and chill the cuss out.

I really love chai. Today I tried bulletproof chai and it was amazing. I make my chai from scratch an added unsweetened almond milk instead of milk and real stevia instead of sugar or honey. The light coconut flavor is absolutely delicious. Thanks for the idea. (Sorry if there are mistakes, English is not my first language.)

Living in Seattle has made me a bit of a coffee purist – I tried your bulletproof coffee, but couldn’t get past the slight oiliness. I did love how creamy and fluffy it was, though, and my homebrewed chai always falls a bit flat of what I have in teahouses and whatnot – I think this chai recipe might be right up my alley! Thanks!

Oh my goodness! I absolutely love this! I wasn’t a fan of bulletproof coffee, and being more of a tea drinker anyways, this is perfect!
December 14, 2016 @ 1:22 am
YUM! I’m not a coffee drinker, but do enjoy a good cup of tea every now and then. This was delicious and so easy to make. I used a little heavy whipping cream and it made it thick and frothy. I used my immersion blender right in the pan to mix it up rather than dirtying up the blender… but, that dirtied up the stove a little bit. Hahaha! Thank you for sharing.

Hi! I am so glad I found your receipe. I am not a huge coffee drinker and when I do it has to be sugared up! I LOVE Chai tea and that is my regular drink at Starbucks! Since starting keto, I have tried and failed to get bulletproof coffe into my day. But I have had the Chai three days in a row and love it! Thanks!
