Simplify Shopping, Dress Your Truth
I have always enjoyed shopping, but my motto used to be “find whatever I can, ON SALE”. And although I became an expert at getting good deals, this led to putting the cost or great value of an item above whether or not I really liked the item or whether or not it really looked good on me. I mean, honestly, my closet was filled with clothes that I wasn’t in love with. Some of them I never wore and some of them I wore, but didn’t like. I also would find things I love when shopping, but decided not to get them, because I didn’t have anything that would “go” with it.
Then a couple of months ago, all of that changed. I took a course called Dressing Your Truth®, which helped me figure out how to dress in a way that really communicated my nature. It basically explains that there are 4 Types of beauty and since clothing is a form of non-verbal communication, how you dress says a lot about you and what kind of person you are. I used what I learned to purge my closet and get rid of things that didn’t look good on me or were not reflecting my Type 3 nature.
How dressing my truth simplified my shopping and made my life
SO MUCH EASIER.
Shopping is so much easier now, because I have a color pallet to use as a guide. When I use the color pallet, it helps me steer clear of colors that won’t look good on me and the other great thing is that ALL of my clothes now go together, so I can mix and match. This also means that everything I own is way more versatile, so I can own less, but wear things I love MORE. If you read my blog much, you know I am striving for simplicity and minimalism, so I don’t need a cluttered closet. I also learned which shapes and patterns work the best for me, so I can quickly find clothing that is gonna look awesome on me. It gives me so much more confidence when I am trying things on. If it fits well and works with my type of beauty, I don’t waste time second guessing my choice. I also don’t mind passing by things that are on sale if they are clearly not my Type.
