I love cereal and I have been a little obsessed with it lately. But not only am I avoiding grains, but the store-bought cereals are full of sugar and processed junk. Even the supposedly “healthy” ones. Have you ever read the ingredients on your granola??? I would be very surprised if sugar or corn syrup wasn’t one of the top 4 ingredients. Go check. See? Here is an ingredient list from a “healthy” cereal:
Ingredients: Whole grain rolled oats, whole grain wheat, sugar, rice, corn syrup, raisins, almonds, contains 2% or less of glycerin, palm oil, molasses, modified corn starch, salt, cinnamon, nonfat milk, malt flavoring, polyglycerol esters of fatty acids, BHT for freshness, guar gum.
Even if it didnt have grains, the third ingredient is sugar and it has preservatives, gums and GMOs. Not cool. So, I went on a quest to find the best REAL FOOD grain-free cereal recipes I could find. Both hot and cold options, depending on your taste. Check ’em out!
