Why I love podcasts and you should too

You know what I love about podcasts?

Multi-tasking. I love multi-tasking and podcasts are perfect for that. I’m a busy mom with an endless pile of laundry to fold and an ever-filling sink of dishes to wash. And don’t get me started on all the cooking I have to do for the bottomless pits that claim to be my children. But I love listening to podcasts while I work, because it helps fill my time and mind while I work on otherwise mundane tasks around the house. Do I like folding laundry? No, but I do enjoy listening to funny, intelligent people talk about things I am interested in. So it makes the laundry a little more interesting in the process.

Adult conversation. Sometimes as a mom, as much as you love your kids, you miss talking to other adults. Having your own mind stimulated with ideas and conversation is so very refreshing after hours of discussing legos, princesses and pokemon. Do I enjoy talking to my kids? YES, YES, YES! But sometimes you want something on your level. Listening to podcasts not only feeds me fresh ideas from other adults, but get this. It gives me great conversation topics with my hubby and other adults I want to have conversations with. As interesting as I find it, not everyone else is as interested in how many times the toddler got into the toilet or how much paint was spilled on the floor.

Self-Improvement. My personal motto is “Contentment without Complacency”. I firmly believe that we should all be content with our lives and daily work, whatever that may be. But I also believe we have a duty to ourselves to be constantly improving, moving forward, working towards goals and doing what we can to make our lives better. Thats why I am so excited about the New Year, New You Summit. It’s 60 hours worth of amazing speakers talking about things I really do want to know more about like real food, getting out of debt and getting rid of clutter. I love that there are days where you can listen for FREE to the live streaming interviews. But I also love that this week they are having a sale to let you buy all 60 hours of interviews for on $49 AND if you purchase by Friday, they will throw in last years podcasts for free! Last January I listened to the summit and it was inspiring and wonderful. It got me kickstarted to make some wonderful changes in my family life and diet, which led to an incredible journey for us. So go check out the line up of speakers. Register to listen on the free days, or better yet, take advantage of the sale and get ALL of the interviews. Then you can listen during your cooking and chores or during your commute to work. Seriously. Do it. You can thank me later.New Year New You sale
